Hello everyone,
The recent wet weather although causing some disruption to play, has been a real bonus for the golf course. Warm season grasses continue to be dormant, but there are some signs of very improved color on our Bermuda grass. I cannot wait for temperatures in the high 20’s for our grass to begin to grow. Our Toro 1260 Greens Roller has been in use and I am very impressed with the results. We will continue to roll the greens unless we get heavy rain again.
We are beginning to add more definition to all fairways. My objective is to stand on each tee box and see the definition of the fairway and the rough.
Again, we need higher temperatures, but currently we are marking each fairway with white paint to show the borders of the rough. Please be patient with us as this is work in progress.
We have completed placing new sand in all the bunkers. We were unfortunate to receive the Calima (sandstorm) which made them a little brown. Nevertheless, they are much better and now we are working on them to pack the sand down, so it is not so soft.
Thank you all for your patience and cooperation as we are always working hard to improve the quality of the golf course.
Kindest regards,
Monty Bordelon,
Director of Golf Operations.
