Marbella Country Club evolves into Higuerón Marbella Golf Resort

In December 2025 Marbella Golf began a new era as Higuerón Marbella Golf Resort, a project that redefines its legacy and projects its future within the strategic vision of expansion of Higueron Developments.

After five months of anticipation generated during 2025 by the teaser campaign “A Look into the Future,” one of the most significant milestones in the history of the golf course is revealed: its integration into the Higuerón Developments ecosystem and its transformation into Higuerón Marbella Golf Resort. The tradition and prestige of the golf course are now united with the philosophy of excellence and the innovative, sustainable, and authentic character that defines the Higuerón brand.

ORIGINS

In the 1980s, Robert Naify conceived the idea of ​​creating an exclusive golf club in Marbella, and to bring it to fruition, he enlisted the legendary architect Robert Trent Jones Sr., one of the most influential figures in the history of golf. Trent Jones Sr. was responsible for the original course design, contributing to his characteristic technical and elegant style. Under his direction, and with local supervision from Cabell Robinson, the project took shape until its inauguration in 1994. Despite some subsequent modifications, the layout maintains the essence of Trent Jones Sr.’s original design, solidifying Higuerón Marbella Golf Resort as one of his most outstanding works on the Costa del Sol.

A LOOK INTO THE FUTURE

From Higuerón Marbella Resort to Higuerón Marbella Golf Resort

With its sights set on the future, Higuerón Developments began a new chapter in May 2025 with the launch of the teaser of Higuerón Marbella Resort brand. An ambitious yet secure project for one of the most established companies on the Costa del Sol, which began to focus its attention on Marbella.

The presentation of this new identity marked a milestone in the company’s history: for the first time, Higuerón Resort organized an event outside its usual environment, the Beach Volleyball Tournament “Copa del Rey y de la Reina”, held in Marbella. This setting served as inspiration to reveal the new brand and its central message to the world: A Look into the Future.

Through an audiovisual piece featuring contemporary artist Enrique Brickmann, the brand expressed its own transformation process, drawing a parallel between artistic evolution and the renewal of an identity that looks to the future without losing its essence.

Since then, Higuerón Marbella Resort has participated in prominent events on the Marbella calendar, such as the annual gala of the Spanish Association Against Cancer, the Spanish Beach Volleyball Championship, and the Davis Cup, reinforcing its presence and values ​​through art, sport, and solidarity.

With the release in December 2025 of the third teaser of the “A Look into the Future ” campaign, filmed on the golf course, Higuerón Developments unveils the location where the second resort will be developed, evolving the brand from Higuerón Marbella Resort to Higuerón Marbella Golf Resort.
