After five months of anticipation surrounding the teaser campaign “A Look into the Future”, Higuerón Developments unveils one of the most significant milestones in its history: the acquisition of the historic Marbella Golf course, which will now be known as Higuerón Marbella Golf Resort. This change marks the beginning of a new era for one of Marbella’s most iconic golf venues and for the company itself, which is thus consolidating its expansion with a second flagship resort in Southern Europe.
Originally designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and opened in 1994, the course will retain the essence of its creator while preparing for its evolution. The new owners are working alongside Robert Trent Jones Jr. on a redesign that will reinterpret the course with a contemporary approach, respectful of the landscape and true to the philosophy of the game that defined its creator.
With this initiative, Higuerón Developments reinforces its position as one of the most established groups on the Costa del Sol, with over three decades of experience in the hotel, real estate, and luxury sectors. The new resort will be born from a comprehensive vision that combines accommodation, wellness, sports, and exclusivity, following the model of its flagship property, Higuerón Gran Málaga Resort.
