Ladies Corner – October 2025 News

Dear Ladies,

First of all, please accept my apologies for not being with you at this year’s AGM. Unfortunately, I am back in the UK undergoing a series of tests to find out what caused my knee synovitis… yes, I know… another injury!

As you all know, our Ladies Section is booming with so many active ladies who are very keen to play not only in our weekly competitions but also taking part in our various inter club events.

At the moment, we have 62 lady members, with 11 new members joining us over this past year and a few more eagerly waiting on the list to join the fun.

New Ladies Away Day

I am thrilled to share that next year I will be introducing a Ladies Away Day at Torrequebrada on 8th April! The day will include:

• Morning pickup from MGCC
• A round of golf at the beautiful Torrequebrada Golf Club
• A delicious 2-course meal
• Return drop off at MGCC the same day

Interclub Update

As your Lady Interclub Captain, my mission this year was to bring in new Interclub opponents and to raise our game to the level Marbella Golf Country Club Ladies deserve.

We now play 6 Interclub matches a year with three new clubs and here are the results:

• Miraflores Golf Club (home game canceled)
• La Cala Golf Club 14.5 – 9.5  (MGCC won)
• Los Arqueros 14.5 – 6.5 (home game MGCC won, away game canceled)
• Aloha Golf Club 7.5 – 1.5 (home game, MGCC won)
• Marbella Club Resort 3 – 6 (away game, MCGR won)
• Villa Padierna (To be played)

We won three of the five Interclub matches played and two were canceled, one more to be played in November. Marbella Golf Country Club was unbeaten at home this year!!!

Don’t forget to sign up, signing up list is on the board next to Satu’s office.

Please add the date to your calendar once you sign up, if for any reason you are no longer available, I kindly ask that you let me know as early as possible.

Unfortunately, it’s been happening quite often that players sign up but are no longer available when the groups are created. Early notice would be greatly appreciated and will help ensure everything runs smoothly for everyone.

Time to Say Thank You

As we wrap up this part of the season, I want to take a moment to say thank you to all of you. Your enthusiasm, support and wonderful spirit make our Club very special. Thank you for showing up, for your good energy on and off the course and for making every event a pleasure to organize. I feel very lucky to share these great moments with such a fantastic group of ladies.

I would like to acknowledge the fantastic work that Jan Zadruzynski our Club Captain and Joe McKelvey our Vice Captain do organizing our weekly competitions. Please do show them your appreciation, trust me, it is not an easy task, and they do it with such dedication, patience, and good humor. We are very lucky to have them!

I would also like to thanks Steve Cullen our President, you have been a great support since I took this role, I really appreciate it and thank you for keeping such good order during all our committee meetings, what would we do without you?

Thank you to Monty, Satu and Toñi for their constant support of our Ladies Interclub competitions and of course a special thank you to Francesc for looking so well after us during our Interclub lunches. And last but not least a big thank you to our Marshalls, Miguel, Derek, Antonio, Colin and Catherine; you all do a great job!
