Exhibition Day Brings Together the World’s Greatest Automotive Masterpieces

Against the backdrop of a Costa del Sol sunset, Higuerón Marbella Golf Resort hosted Exhibition Day, offering guests the opportunity to discover an exceptional selection of vehicles from the world’s most prestigious brands, from the latest-generation hypercars to classics and unique one-off creations.

Bugatti, Main Partner of Concurso de Elegancia Costa del Sol, was one of the defining highlights of the 2026 edition. The French marque presented an extraordinary selection of vehicles from different collections, including development prototypes and unique creations rarely seen together at a single event.

Among them was the Bugatti F.K.P. Hommage, presented at a concours d’elegance for the first time, alongside the new Bugatti Tourbillon, which made its first active appearance at an automotive event, including driving routes and a track session.

The Bugatti line-up also featured special examples of some of the marque’s most iconic models, including the Veyron La Finale, as well as eight development prototypes showcasing different stages of the brand’s technical evolution. These included a Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster powered by a W16 engine, a secret prototype shown to the public for the first time. It served as a test bed for an engine architecture that was ultimately never introduced in the Bugatti Veyron.

The concentration of Bugatti models was one of the defining moments of the event, with many attendees sharing the same impression: “I had never seen so many Bugattis together in one place.”

Other leading marques, including Koenigsegg, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Porsche and Lamborghini, were represented alongside renowned design houses and coachbuilders such as Zagato, Isidera, Bertone and Kimera.

The Piëch family’s Porsche Le Mans Tribute Collection, featuring bespoke creations, was another major attraction, alongside unique vehicles such as the Lamborghini Aventador J, Morgan Midsummer, Zagato Twintail, Spyker C8 Aileron, Porsche 996 GT1 and McLaren P1 chassis number 001.

An International Jury Recognises the World’s Finest Automotive Creations

Throughout the event, the international jury evaluated the participating vehicles, considering design, history, engineering, rarity and significance within the world of collector cars.

Comprising leading figures in automotive design, restoration and collecting, the jury brought together experts associated with institutions and concours events including Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, Hagerty, the Petersen Automotive Museum, Ferrari Classiche, Italdesign and Pininfarina.

From Ascari’s Track to Gibraltar Airport: The Automobile as an Experience

Concurso de Elegancia Costa del Sol was much more than a vehicle exhibition. Over four days, participants enjoyed a programme designed around driving and a shared passion for the automobile.

On Friday, 2 October, owners brought their vehicles to Ascari Race Resort in Ronda for an exclusive track day. Selected cars underwent dynamic and acceleration tests before the jury, allowing judges to assess not only their design and history but also their mechanical condition and the distinctive character of their engines.

On the third day, the event moved to one of its most distinctive locations: Gibraltar Airport, which was closed exclusively for participants and the organisers. Owners travelled in convoy from Marbella to the runway, where they experienced their vehicles’ performance along a 1.5-kilometre straight, making individual high-speed runs.

The day also featured a Bombardier Global 6500 on the runway and a VIP area inside the terminal, complete with a private lounge, catering and a DJ, allowing guests to enjoy the experience from different perspectives.

A Black-Tie Gala Brings a Historic Edition to a Close

Concurso de Elegancia Costa del Sol concluded with a Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony at a spectacular private villa in Marbella, where guests enjoyed an elegant evening in an exclusive setting.

The gala celebrated the winning vehicles across the various categories and presented the prestigious Best of Show award, bringing a fitting close to an edition that brought together some of the world’s most exceptional automobiles.
