Hello everyone, I hope this article finds you all well and enjoying your game.
It’s so nice to see most of our members back for the winter season. We have missed you and now it’s time to get back to playing some good golf.
Well, it’s high season and as you will have noticed the golf course is full every day. Me and my maintenance team are doing our best to maintain the golf course in optimal condition. I am gradually cutting the greens more and hopefully we will soon have the speed back to 10.0 on the stimpmeter.
We are currently leaving the rough at the existing length but not cutting the fairways too low, so that you have better lies. Please be patient with me concerning the tee boxes because when we have 190 people playing every day, they do get damaged. However the marshals employ a system and move them four times a week, and the maintenance team also apply sand in the divots.
I am going to try to keep the grass tee open on the driving range as long as possible. Once it becomes cooler the Bermuda grass does not grow, but so far, it is still warm enough to maintain the grass tee.
It was very rewarding to see such a good turnout for the Club Championship in September, and it’s looking like we are full for the upcoming Captain’s Day tournament, so it’s going to be a great day! In November the two-day Ryder Cup tournament and the Turkey Trot competition will be held so it will also be a busy month with lots going on.
We are also organizing another Night Golf event on November 20th. I have had many requests to repeat this after the first one held in August, so keep an eye out for the email and notification on the Mulligan App.
The social calendar in September was hectic with several live music events and also a cocktail workshop. Thank you to all who participated! The next Sunset Sax Experience event will take place on Saturday October 31st, to be sure you do not miss it, book your table now. This time the evening will start at 7pm with a new menu from our restaurant team.
The Xmas Day lunch and festive menus for groups have been launched. Make sure to book your space early as last year our lunch on December 25th was fully booked. For a celebration with a group of friends, family or business partners, booking your table with a festive menu before November 15th will get you a 10% discount on the menu price. You can choose between cocktail type and seated menus, and all have wonderful wines included.
Regarding the app, many of you have already downloaded the new, enhanced version – called “Mulligan” instead of Clapphouse. Please note the Clapphouse app will cease working at the end of this year. If you need any help downloading the new app, please ask in the golf shop.
In our golf shop the autumn/winter collection of apparel has arrived and as you may have already seen, in addition to the best-selling brands such as Adidas and J.Lindeberg, we are stocking new lines that we are sure you will love, including Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein.
Finally, you will all hopefully have noticed that I am spending more time on the golf course. This is because I want to ensure all our customers enjoy a first-class experience at Higuerón Marbella Golf Resort, and it’s also nice to see some good swings as well! I promise that I will dust off my clubs and join you all soon on a Friday.
