On 11 December, Higuerón Marbella Golf Resort invites guests on a journey through some of Spain’s finest wine regions with an exclusive tasting of six wines paired with six gourmet creations, hosted by sommelier Charlotte Rodríguez.
Christmas is also a time to celebrate over a fine glass of wine. Under the title “From Vineyard to Table: Christmas Edition”, Higuerón Marbella Golf Resort presents a gastronomic and wine experience designed to explore the distinctive character of Spanish wines and their harmony with a carefully curated selection of culinary creations.
The event will take place on Friday, 11 December, at 3:30 pm in the Legend’s Room, where guests will enjoy a tasting experience designed to reveal the nuances, aromas and flavours of each wine through thoughtfully selected food pairings.
Six Wines, Six Pairings, One Journey Through the Senses
The experience takes guests on a journey beginning with the freshness and expressiveness of white wines, moving through the structure and depth of reds, and concluding with a sweet wine that provides the perfect finishing touch.
Each wine will be accompanied by a culinary creation designed to complement its distinctive characteristics:
- Galizeus Godello | V.T. Castilla y León. Paired with a creamy prawn croquette and delicate homemade aioli.
- Segrel Albariño Ámbar | D.O. Rías Baixas. Served with a traditional Spanish gilda skewer featuring anchovy, pickled green pepper and olive.
- Entrechuelos Chardonnay | V.T. Cádiz. Accompanied by goat’s cheese toast with caramelised onion, walnuts and honey.
- Rejadorada Roble | D.O. Toro. Paired with slow-braised beef cheek on creamy potato purée and glazed pearl onions.
- Lleiroso Crianza | D.O. Ribera del Duero. Complemented by grilled Iberian pork with a red wine reduction.
- P.X. Orange Sweet Wine | Bodega Olivares. The tasting concludes with homemade chocolate brownie, nuts and a delicate hint of orange.
This carefully curated selection offers guests the opportunity to discover how gastronomy can transform the appreciation of wine, enhancing its qualities and revealing new combinations of flavours.
Charlotte Rodríguez: Three Decades of Expertise and Passion for Wine
The tasting will be led by Charlotte Rodríguez, owner and Commercial Director of Cervinco Internacional S.L., a wine distribution company based in Málaga.
Having lived in Spain for 40 years and with more than 30 years of experience in the wine industry, Charlotte brings extensive expertise and specialist knowledge to the event.
She has studied Oenology and Wine Tasting at the University of Málaga and holds the prestigious WSET Level 4 Diploma (Wine & Spirit Education Trust), an internationally recognised qualification in wine and spirits.
She also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Málaga Association of Oenology and Wine Tasting.
Throughout the tasting, Charlotte will share her knowledge and experience, guiding participants through the origins, production methods and distinctive characteristics of each wine, while explaining the principles behind their carefully selected food pairings.
